Isaac'd be lying if he said he wasn't looking forward to this. Finally, finally, he had a day of no-strings-attached fun ahead of him. And this wasn't going to be a jinx like all the last times he said it, either! He was right here in the Rocket Sub, where no wild Pokemon, urgent duty, nosy League operatives, or sudden twists of bad luck could rain on his parade. No, this was just going to be more food and drinks than he could handle, a bunch of movies he'd never even heard of, and a celebration of his and Ceri's (let's be real, mostly Ceri's) success.[break][break]

He went over his pre-hangout checklist. Messy room ~~haphazardly flung into his closet to hide all of the evidence of its existence~~ cleaned spotless? Check. Beanbag chairs, for extra stylish sitting? Check. Enough drinks to practically run an entire open bar out of his room? Check. A minifridge full of ice cream, surrounded by all sorts of bags of chips? Oh, so check. He'd even managed to bum a real big TV off of one of the senior grunts, at the cost of having to do their laundry for the next month or two. Totally a worthwhile trade; the speakers on this thing were insane![break][break]

Everything was there, bar one thing; the guest. Isaac flopped back onto a beanbag, scrolling through a message history filled with technobabble, memes, and the occasional bit of joking blackmail.[break][break]

Instead of a response to his text message, there’s a knock at the door… or, more like a ’THUD!’, as if something had just unceremoniously smacked against it. In Ceri’s defence, her hands are full.

”ISAAC! OPEN UP!”

She has never had any apprehensions about speaking loudly, often caring little for being overheard. If anything, it’s almost as if she wants the whole world to hear her. And so, when opening the door, Isaac Merlo would find himself greeted by a smile that is as bright as it is unapologetic.

”I brought popcorn!” Ceri declares proudly, and it’s perfectly manicured hands that hold up the huge bowl of freshly-made popcorn as if she were expecting clapping or a “hurrah!” or something. She’s dressed more casually than what she usually is, her simple attire perhaps reflecting on the reality of this meeting: on the fact that she had just been in her own room and only had to walk down a few corridors to make it here. Shorts, a shirt, and a denim jacket that is definitely way too large for her petite frame. Her brunette hair hangs over her shoulder in a single fishtail braid.

”Let’s go go go. I don’t like cold popcorn.” She urges him, grinning.

He popped off of his beanbag as soon as he heard the THUD! Yep. There was that excitable side of Ceri again (aka, like 90% of her.) "Alright, alright, I'm coming," he said in response to her her shout. If he didn't, he was pretfy sure she'd take matters into her own hands and kick it open herself.[break][break]

Her own winning smile was returned by his own as he popped the door open. "Damn, looking good," he said, voice lighthearted and teasing, before glancing to the popcorn and snatching a quick piece. "And your outfit's nice, too." Why yes. Yes, he did compliment the popcorn first. But with how proud Ceri clearly was of it, surely she wouldn't mind that little bait and switch.[break][break]

He'd stepped aside pretty much right after, knowing that good ol' Ceri "Gotta Go Fast" Glynn wasn't here to chat around in a doorway. No, she was here for action. He gestured to the beanbag chairs, one in warm colors and one in cool colors, with a tiny little table between them for optimal snack grabbing. "Pick your poison. I'm cool with either one," he said, firing up the TV while she made her pick.[break][break]

Dear god, what a big TV. It was practically lighting the whole room up. And if the guy he borrowed this thing from was right, it'd have some crazy surround sound to match. This was gonna rule.[break][break]

"So which list are we tackling first?" Isaac asked. "The movie list, or the drink list?"

He compliments the popcorn first… As he should! It had taken her a lot of effort to get it for them, after all! She had made it herself, and everybody knows that when making popcorn, getting the timing right for most of the kernels to pop but none to get burned is a bitch to do.

”Thanks, I know.” She winks regardless, making it unclear if her response is in reference to his comment regarding the popcorn or her outfit. It could be both, really. They’re both things she takes pride in.

How does she react when stepping in and seeing the huge TV that now forms part of Isaac’s décor?

Well, as is only appropriate, she wolf whistles.

”Damn, who did you bribe to get that in here?” The popcorn is unceremoniously placed on the table between the bean bag chairs, and without giving it much thought, she unceremoniously flops down on the one of warmer colours. There’s that funny feeling that brings vague memories of one too many days spent hanging out at Slateport U’s dormitories: that of polystyrene beans moving around and adjusting to her figure.

”Oh, oh… Movies! Believe me, what we drink won’t matter much, we’re going to be playing a drinking game.”

She smirks at him then, in her playfully wicked, Cheshire-like way.

But Ceri didn't need to know that, or the reason why Isaac would be occupying twice as many spots on the sub's chore wheel.[break][break]

With Ceri on the warmer beanbag, Isaac lazily sprawled out on the cooler colored one. He took another bit of popcorn as he heard her suggestion. Drinking game, eh? A devilish grin spread across his own face as he listened to the gauntlet she just threw down. "Oh, I like the way you think," he said. "What kinda rules are we talking here?"[break][break]

As he spoke, he flicked through the on demand lists, looking for some good, grisly horror. The Missing Number series? Eh, those were a little too big brain and confusing for drinking games. Tyranitsar? Even odds of getting horrifying rampages through populated cities or Tyranitsar dancing on the moon and being a friend to all children. There were some other good ones on here, ranging from shlock (Buried Alive, god, Cygne would judge him so hard for watching that mess of a franchise) to classic (Hisuian Park had such a sterling reputation for a reason, but was it a little too mainstream now?).[break][break]

But maybe he'd wait to see what the rules of this game were before committing to a movie one way or another.
